Message from the Director of Studies

Dear Esteemed Parents, Respected Staff, and Beloved Students,

I bring you warm greetings as we officially welcome everyone to a new term filled with opportunities, fresh goals, and new beginnings.

At Purpose Driven Schools, our unwavering commitment is to provide every child with not just education, but direction, discipline, and purpose. Education goes beyond books and exams — it's about building character, confidence, and the capacity to make meaningful contributions in the future.

This term marks an exciting step forward as we introduce our digital school portal powered by SchoolsFocus — a platform designed to bring convenience, transparency, and connection between the school, parents, and students.

The Journey so far

God’s grace started this school in January 2014. Like play like play we registered our first pupils and gradually increased to 50 within the first one year. The effort of our first three teachers- Mr. Alfred, Miss Pelumi and Mrs David-is so significant in scouting for foundation pupils. In the space of 10 years, God helped us secure approval for the Nursery, Primary and Junior Secondary sections of the school. Despite the low economic activities of our community, we are able to position the school to provide a qualitative and affordable education system comparable to anywhere in the country. With 25 dedicated teachers and modest infrastructure we provided a conducive atmosphere for our learners.

Extra-curriculum Activities

We invested time and resources to ensure our students not just learn within the four walls of the classrooms, but also involved in sporting activities and academic events within and outside the school. In the last ten years we

  1. Organised football matches with all the schools within Onipetesi. This was to explore the hidden skills in some of our boys.
  2. Participated in an invitational relay. Both our boys and girls Relay team returned with medals.
  3. We participated in the 10th Anniversary of Liberty school inter-school Quiz competition.
  4. We participated in the 10th Anniversary of Saving Grace football match and spelling Bee.
  5. We organized a spelling Bee competition for schools in the Onipetesi community.
  6. We participated in the Saving Grace Mathematics competition.
  7. We encouraged our students to send an Essay for the Wole Soyinka writing competition in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
  8. Our students participated in the Ifo Zonal Education Mathematics competition.
  9. We took our students to Shoprite Toll gate during children's day.
  10. We took our students to Omole Phase 1 to visit the Manger (Where Jesus was born).

These show our commitment in overall development of our students within and outside the school environment.

Looking into the future

We are trusting God to enlarge our coast in the next 10 years to make us a community of over 500 students and 50 teachers.

  1. We will vigorously pursue the approval of the Senior Secondary School.
  2. Move the primary school to the permanent site.
  3. Invest more in IT and develop the JAMB CBT centre.
  4. Diversify into other ventures to support our teachers.

Our diversity makes us stronger

We are building a diversified organization that engages and develops its people at all levels and seeks to demonstrate the benefits of its social value. Our vision and values in our people demonstrate a major part of who we are-we all have different skills, insight, styles, expertise and experiences. It’s what makes Purpose Driven School different and special.

Our promise to our staff is to create a good place to work. We at Purpose Driven School can all thrive and be our best, every day. We can only do this if our people can be themselves and feel included and valued in all that we do. We will support our teachers to ensure they are happy doing what they are doing.

  1. SAYE- While they work at Purpose, we will try to save a little percentage of their salary for the future. The money then formed a capital base for the school cooperative where teachers can access loans at 4% interest rate.
  2. Medicare- Our teachers and children will be supported to maintain good health.
  3. Break time Lunch- We try to provide light refreshment to our teachers while in the school.
  4. Purpose Food- Through our cooperative initiative we make available food stuff to our teachers at reduced prices.

Committed to completing our task

In order to serve our pupils and students better we will intensify effective internal control mechanisms to ensure lesson plans, activities and teachings are completed as scheduled and make sure we are completing our day-to-day tasks correctly. We will review and update controls frequently and follow any change. Every teacher has a role to play.

Come and join us…

I will conclude by inviting parents in Onipetesi area and in particular Ijoko and by large extension, Sango Ota and environ to join us by bringing your children here for affordable and qualitative education. We at Purpose Driven School don’t just do a thing without positive purpose and good results. We care about our students even after they graduate from our school. We are making PDS a great place to study. A place where every child feels safe. A place where every child feels supported. A place where every parent feels valued. A place where everyone feels empowered. A place where every teacher wants to collaborate. A place where every teacher wants to rise to the challenge. A place where every teacher wants to go the extra mile and make the difference. A place where no two days are the same. Come and join us. Together we are purposeful, together we are stronger and together we are mighty. And together we keep our school and community running in a changing nation.

Thank you.
